Bratton Places UK

Welcome to Bratton Places UK which tells you the locations of the places in the UK that carry our family

There are 6 villages/hamlets in UK called Bratton.

There's one in Shropshire just north of Wolverhampton, the rest are within 30 miles of each other in Devon, Somerset and Wiltshire

In addition there is a Farm, but no village in Lincolnshire

See all Bratton references on the map, which includes hills, farms etc called Bratton.

I did a tour of the Bratton villages in the Summer of 2007.

I have included, for each village a post code as this can be used with Multimap or Google Earth to look at a map of the area or an aerial photograph

OS references to be used on www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/getamap/

There was very litttle at this Bratton until fairly recently.

There was an empty field that for a brief moment in time had a place in history. Before 1940 it was an empty field and after 1945 it reverted to

This is me in June 2007

... an empty field but in the intervening years, when we had a bit of bother with Hitler, it had its moment of fame as RAF Bratton Airfield.
John F Kennedy International Airport and RAF Bratton Airfield.
More than one mother happy and proud

This is the farm that owned the fields
There's been a lot of changes in recent years

One of the fields, and it may have been the airstrip, as it is the right shape, is now...

... a long street of individually designed houses like this one called Bratton Oaks.

If one of us lived here our address would be

Mr/Mrs Bratton,
Bratton Oaks
Bratton
Brittain

How cool is that?
